Wedding Dance Lessons in Fair Lawn, New Jersey

Your Dance Should be One Of The, If Not The Most Epic Moments Of Your Wedding!

Congratulations on your engagement and thank you for your interest in Dance A Lot.

As an exceptional wedding dance experts with more than 30 years of experience, we've created memorable routines for over 300 couples and counting. Since each couple is unique, how we choreograph each dance needs to reflect that.

It isn't enough just to put steps together - we want you to love your dance, and make long-lasting memory with the love of your life, that will wow the guests at your wedding.

We'll meet with you to get to know who you are, what is your personality, your dance level and style, find out if you think you have two left feet, or if you'd like a very simply routine, maybe include a dip, or even go more adventurous and do a lift. (Like Elsa and Aaron; fyi they're the only ones to ever ask us for the lift from "Dirty Dancing".) 🙂

Every step of your dance - from the intro to the very last dip will be tailored just for you.

Your dance will feel smooth and effortless, sweet memories will be made, and your friends and family will repeat: "that was the best wedding dance I've ever seen."

Wedding Dance F.A.Q.

Here are six reasons why we believe a well-choreographed wedding dance is one of the best things you can do for your wedding:

  1. Avoid swaying side to side for four long minutes.
  2. Bring the WOW factor.
  3. Make your guests talk about it for years.
  4. It’s an investment.
  5. Relieve stress and have fun.
  6. Look and feel confident.

No. If you’re unsure about your song choice, your wedding specialist will suggest options during your free consultation. In your first lesson, your teachers will start with basic elements and steps. You should make your final decision before your second lesson, where we’ll choreograph your dance.

Choosing the perfect wedding song isn’t always easy. Some couples know exactly what they want, while others are unsure—and that’s okay. To find the right song, listen to a lot of music and consider if a song reminds you of a special time with your fiancé, brings back unique memories, or if the lyrics touch your hearts. Whether you like modern artists like Ed Sheeran or Taylor Swift, classic singers like Frank Sinatra or Etta James, or prefer rock or country, the most important thing is to choose a song you both love. It will always remind you of this special day, so select one that reflects you as a couple. Remember, you can always mix two or three songs to add some flavor and surprise your guests.

Our professional recommendation is that your wedding dance should be no longer than 2 to 2 minutes 30 seconds, depending on whether you’re dancing to one or multiple songs. You want a short pleaser, not a long snoozer. More music means more steps, more lessons, more stress, and more things to remember. In short—keep it short.

Yes, we can professionally edit your song or mix several songs together for an additional fee. You’ll receive the edited version(s) via email and will have three revisions at no extra cost until you’re satisfied. We guarantee you’ll love the new arrangement.

The consultation is a 40-minute to hour-long conversation where we’ll discuss the choreography process, get to know you as a couple, and answer any questions you may have about our services. This session helps you make an informed decision about working with us, determining how many lessons you need, and scheduling your lessons.

No matter if you’d like a classy Waltz, a romantic Rumba, or a spicy Salsa, we can do it all. Certified in all International and American Styles of Dance, we are masters at creating mixed routines incorporating two or even three dances. So, if you’re looking to surprise your guests by starting slowly and transitioning into a faster-paced song, we’ve got you covered.

Starting three to four months, or even a year, before your wedding is ideal. This timeline allows you to enjoy your lessons without the pressure of a tight deadline. You’ll have more time to memorize, practice, and polish your dance. However, we’ve also worked with couples who had only a month or even just two weeks before their wedding and still did fine. Whatever your timeline, we’re here to help. Most importantly, your dance lessons should be the most fun part of your wedding preparation. 😊

This is a very individual choice. It depends on how early you start your lessons, your skill level, and how quickly you learn. Like any other skill, dancing requires repetition and consistency. On average, most of our wedding couples come once a week. If possible, you’re welcome to come twice or even three times a week. The most important thing is to attend your lessons regularly, especially as your wedding approaches, so you don’t miss a beat.

We offer various packages ranging from five to fifty lessons. When deciding which package is best for you, consider how important your wedding dance is, how you envision looking on your big day, the time you have to practice, and your budget. Generally, a simpler routine will require fewer lessons than a “Dancing With The Stars” type of choreography. We can accommodate any aspirations and budgets. To help our couples, we offer payment plans for larger packages.
