Professional instructors! Fun! Excited to sign up for another session!

I started taking private lessons in January in Florida. When I returned in June I continued my lessons at the Dance A Lot Ballroom Studio. It has been a wonderful experience. My instructor, Georgi, is extremely experienced and knowledgeable as well as patient. He is dedicated to improving every step I take but also makes the learning both challenging and fun. I am very pleased with the progress I’ve made in such a short time and I highly recommend this dance studio. I never thought that dancing could be so much fun!

The friendliest staff and atmosphere! As a mom I enjoyed watching my daughter dance with such a professional staff in a cozy, family friendly setting! My daughter learned some dances with ease and lots of patience from her teacher. Hoping to return to Dance A lot Ballroom ???? …

My child was very nervous about dancing but Adriana and Georgi had the best approach to her beginner worries. They made her feel comfortable and worked with her at her level. I absolutely love this dance studio. My twins started when they were 3 years old and they loved dancing here. Georgi and Adriana have created a happy place for my kids where they are learning the art of dancing. The poise, grace and patience with which they teach kids is heartwarming. My kids have performed in 2 recitals over the last year, it has built their self confidence performing in front of large crowds. My husband and I attended a wedding and watched the bride and groom stand in place and sway back and forth for three long minutes. BORING! We decided then and there we would make our first dance fun, memorable and entertaining! Georgi and Adrianna were fantastic dance instructors. The first time I spoke with Adrianna on the phone she asked for some details about the wedding we were planning. While keeping the theme, venue and my ball gown in mind, we were able to determine that performing a fox trot to Frank Sinatra would be the perfect first dance for us. Neither of us had any ballroom dancing experience but Georgi and Adrianna have a strategic and comprehensive teaching method! Georgi choreographed every move so that it flowed perfectly to the music! I had such a wonderful time working with Dance A Lot Ballroom on my wedding dances! Georgi and his wife Adriana were amazing teachers, and genuinely cared about the success of our dances. Even though my husband and I had no dancing experience, they were able to teach us a unique and sophisticated first dance in only a few weeks. They also helped us choose songs for our father/daughter and mother/son dances, and then created a dance for those as well. Georgi spent many lessons with my now husband & I. He created such a fun first dance for us based on our level of ability. We did East Coast & West Coast Swing as well as Foxtrot to Better Together by Jack Johnson. We had a great time learning the dance & an even better time performing it. I believe our first dance was the most talked about moment at our wedding. Georgi also helped my father & I with our first dance. Although less choreographed, we had some basic Rumba & Swing steps to work with and that dance was a great deal of fun as well. If you want to do something more than rock back & forth with your honey, I highly recommend taking some lessons & wowing your guests with a beautiful first dance!

Georgi and his wife Adriana were able to transform us from complete newbies into dancing “masters” within a few weeks. We had a song in mind which Adriana remixed to accommodate for more of a choreographed dance. They created a completely original choreography matching the moves with the lyrics in the song. My husband and I cannot say enough how thankful we are that we took dance classes- especially at Dance A Lot. Our dance teacher, Georgi, was so wonderful and nice and he made us feel so comfortable! He took his time teaching us and really listened to us. He took into consideration what we liked and what we didn’t like, and was able to create the most perfect routine just for us. We loved working with Georgi and had so much fun with him! Our first dance was perfect! We did a fox trot and hands down- in all honesty, the dance was our most FAVORITE part of our ENTIRE reception! For our wedding we thought it would be nice to choreograph our first dance. Neither my now husband or I know much about dancing and were a little skeptical about going to a dance studio. However, when we went for our wedding consultation and trial we were hooked! Georgi was such an amazing instructor. He was patient, listened to what we were looking for and came up with a beautiful dance that fit our style. We kept it a secret to everyone at our wedding except for immediate family and boy were they surprised! We started off with the typical clench and sway to make it look like it was going to be a normal dance, but then we got into it and everyone was hooked. We received compliments the entire night and even had friends that are getting married ask where we went to take lessons. After that we were able to use some of the moves we learned at future weddings too. Not only was the performance memorable, but the experience of taking lessons was as well. It was something we looked forward to every week which helped us to relax and enjoy ourselves during the stress of wedding planning. If I had to do it all over again I would and I would highly recommend Dance a Lot Ballroom studio as the place to do it!

My husband and I were really time strapped while planning our wedding, so we were only able to take two hour-long classes with Georgi. He utilized the little time we had to choreograph a dance for our wedding song that was simple enough to learn and master but that looked impressively complicated to our guests. Pros about choosing this place (there is not really a con):

1. Affordable cost

2. Very, very friendly owners/instructors

3. Flexible time – they’ll try to work around your schedule; me and my husband always went there after work or on the weekends (we both work in the city, but the instructor Georgi was always strived to work around our schedule whenever he didn’t have to practice for his competition.)

4. Amazing Choreography: I specifically requested for the genre I would like to dance with, Georgi suggested a few songs- I picked one I liked the most – and then he created the completely new choreography on site! It was very simple, yet with all amazing movements! We did Foxtrot for LOVE by Natalie Cole.

Result: All our guests were amazed and many of them recorded our dance from all different angles saying that they’ve never seen any first dance like that- they still talk about it. (sorry Georgi, I wish I could share the videos, but my friends all posted them on Facebook and I have no clue how to download them from Facebook to give to you.) Of course people focus more on Food and DJ when they typically go to the wedding, but we’ve been told by so many people that taking the classes was so worth investing and that our first dance was the best dance they’ve ever seen!!!

My husband and I decided we did not want to sway back and forth for our 1st dance, and so he stopped by Dance A Lot to see if we could get some dance lessons. Neither one of us had any dance experience. We had already chosen a Phantom of the Opera theme for our wedding, and our 1st dance was All I Ask of You. When Georgi found out our plan, he immediately became so excited and wanted to choreograph a dance to match the elegance of the song. My husband came home all ready to “go to the Nationals!” I laughed thinking they’ll be lucky to get me to do any steps without falling all over myself. The dance Georgi and Adriana put together was amazing; they are two extremely talented people. As we learned the dance, we saw the story unfold in our moves. I never had what you could call a traditional dancing skillset. My then fiancé, now wife, had us go through the motions at Arthur Murray so we would be semi-prepared to cut the smallest of rugs should the social situation ever call for it. But even after the “lessons,” I still thought that shuffling off to Buffalo was a method for ordering wings. Suffice it to say, we never bothered to do much fox-trotting since then, but at the very least, it was something of a foundation. But they just had us run through the motions. Fast forward to a rising Cape May sun that saw an engagement ring happily placed upon my bride-to-be’s finger, and I knew that a basic box step wasn’t going to cut it with the eyes of our family and friends upon us. I know that because my wife told me so. Through her online hunting skills, we found Dance-a-Lot Ballroom Studio via theknot.com. Georgi and his wife Adriana thankfully provided top-notch expertise, and amazingly, kept evening hours for multi-tasking couples that were going out of their minds with working and planning a wedding all the while. By the time we began our lessons, our experience with Arthur Murray had long since faded, and I was treating my wife’s toes the same way a baker presses dough. Because I am clumsy. Thankfully, Georgi quickly took over, and she didn’t limp nearly as much. Admittedly, we didn’t go about our lessons in the most traditional manner, but that didn’t seem to stop Georgi. While it was no easy undertaking, he set us on the fast track, providing a refresher for our foundation, and quickly expanded on it to provide us with a custom-designed dance to a song of our choosing, just as we had requested. It was a trial by fire, but Georgi came through in spades, and we’re still getting compliments on our first dance nearly a year after our reception. From having him listen to a song we chose (which was highly non-traditional), he custom designed a number that we learned, made slight adjustments to during the process, and ultimately dazzled our guests at the wedding, In short, it was everything and more we were looking for. Speaking as a man with two left feet, I have to say that, by no means was it easy. We practiced when we could, which often resulted in confused looks from our puppy. By saying that, I’m only pointing out my lack of skill, and how far things evolved. Throughout the process, they also encouraged us to attend mixers with some of their other students, some of whom were in the same boat as us. Not only did it definitely help us in our custom dance, (and speaking as a wallflower) but it was also fun. Most importantly, he had us practice parts of our routine in front of them [the audience), which helped us become more comfortable with it overall. Suffice it to say, Georgi, Adriana, and Dance A Lot Ballroom were everything and more we were looking for. They are both extremely talented and patient instructors. It was also a great experience for us as a couple to relax from all the wedding planning and do something for ourselves. We highly recommend them and you’d be foolish to pass them up.

My husband and I decided that we wanted a choreographed 1st dance at our wedding reception. We had seen a Foxtrot performed at one of Dance A Lot Ballroom’s annual performances and decided that we wanted to do a Foxtrot. We reached out to Georgi and Adriana about this, and they were more than happy to teach us. While I have had some dance experience in my past, my husband had 2 left feet when it came to dancing. Georgi and Adriana were very patient and attentive when explaining the steps in the choreographed routine. Every lesson we took, they took the time to sit with us afterwards to review what we learned during the session. After a few lessons, and lots of practice on our own, we performed our first dance at our wedding to our awe-struck family and friends. My wife and I had no dancing experience prior to meeting with Georgi and Adriana. We also had a tight schedule and began training only about two months before the wedding. We knew we wanted to do something more special and creative, but couldn’t come up with it on our own. DALBS did just that for us. Adriana created a mixed audio with our favorite song (Feel So Close by Calvin Harris), which then became the theme song for the wedding. They were able to incorporate a mixture of elegant slower dance choreography which then smoothly flowed into more of a club song. Georgi came up with the entire choreography on his own and it was truly amazing. Everyone was stunned and loved it. We still hear our friends and family talk about our first dance. Both Georgi and Adriana were really easy to work with and were patient with us in terms of going over the choreography and going over each step in detail. It was such a pleasure to work with both of them as they saw where our strengths were and leveraged those to make the dance even more so special. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone for their First Dance, whether it be more simple and classy or creative and fancy. Our short bus commute from Manhattan was totally worth it every week!

My fiancé and I never had any formal dance training before meeting with Adriana Bezmenova and Georgi Kanev in Dance A Lot Ballroom Studio. We reached out to George 3 months before our wedding. Some weddings are planned months and years in advance, but we met in December, decided to get married in February, and set the wedding date for April! About a week before the wedding we decided we really need the wedding dance. Neither my wife nor I are good dancers, but I did take some classes at Dance-A-Lot a few months earlier. The whole experience was superb! As a couple who had taken dance lessons at one of the well known dance franchises, we had past lessons to compare with. My husband and I wanted to enjoy our daughter’s wedding by being active participants and not wall flowers.
